Think ... People,  THINK!

Religion

Fact:
We are all going to die.

Fact:
Life is what we know. After-life we do not know.
(Although we may chose to "believe").

Fact:
History and current events clearly show the atrocities committed in the name of religious beliefs.

I think all religions are unjustifiably arrogant -- "Mine is the true religion" ... "I know the true God". Perhaps the attached PDF file puts religious arrogance in perspective.

I think arguing religion is futile: one can present irrefutable facts and indisputable logic but in the end when a person simply says "I believe" there is no further argument to be made.

I think religious organizations are at the heart of religious problems. When you need to go to a special person or place in order to communicate with "God" (e.g. seek forgiveness), or when a religious organization preaches death, something is wrong.

I think the United Nations should put forth a set of universal creeds for humanity to live by now, and let personal beliefs (and religions) take care of the hereafter. I propose the following as a starting list:

1. Be honest, within yourself and with all others.
2. Do not take what belongs to another.
3. Live your life, but do not infringe on the lives of others.
4. If a person asks, then provide if you can.
5. You are important to yourself and others.
6. Honor the elders - they will help you to know about life.
7. Think ...before acting.

What do you think?

I think when you die nobody is going to get in the grave with you. When you die, you can do no more good.
